This Privacy Policy explains how Decimal to Fraction ("we," "us," or "our"), operated from Singapore by Jie Yin, handles information when you use https://www.decimal-to-fraction.org and its decimal-to-fraction calculator, conversion guide, chart, and related features. The website is intended for users in the United States.
1. Information You Enter
The calculator is designed to process decimal values in your browser. We do not require an account, name, email address, or payment information to use the calculator. Decimal values entered into the calculator are not transmitted to or stored on our application servers. If you choose a link that carries a measurement from one calculator to another, the application temporarily stores that value in your current browser tab so the destination calculator can use it.
The downloadable conversion charts contain fixed mathematical data and do not include personal information or calculator input. The Inch Fraction Calculator can also create a CSV in your browser from a batch you enter. That locally generated file includes the labels, input lines, measurements, and calculated results in the batch; it is downloaded directly to your device and is not uploaded to us.
2. Information Collected Automatically
Our hosting and security providers may automatically process limited technical information, such as your Internet Protocol address, browser and device type, referring page, requested URL, date and time, and diagnostic or security logs. This information is used to deliver the website, maintain security, prevent abuse, and investigate technical problems.
Calculator input values and calculated fraction results are not intentionally included in analytics events or application error logs.
Google Analytics 4 is currently disabled. We do not load a Google Analytics tag or produce visitor analytics. If this changes, we will update this policy before enabling the service.
3. How We Use Technical Information
We process limited technical information to deliver the website, maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and comply with applicable legal obligations. We do not currently use visitor analytics reports. We limit technical processing to information reasonably needed for those purposes.
4. Analytics, Cookies, and Similar Technologies
Google Analytics 4 is disabled. The Google Analytics tag is not loaded, no analytics request is sent, and this site does not show an analytics-consent popup. Any future activation will require an explicit configuration change and a policy update.
Our public application's browser-storage inventory is:
- localStorage entries created by this application: none;
- analytics cookies: none;
- sessionStorage entries created by this application: up to one measurement-prefill entry, created only after you choose to open a related calculator with the current value. It is limited to the current browser tab and becomes ineligible for use after five minutes. The destination calculator attempts to remove it when read and will not apply it twice on the same page. Because sessionStorage does not provide automatic expiry, unread or undeletable bytes may remain after that five-minute eligibility window until the tab closes, the entry is overwritten, or a later cleanup succeeds;
- IndexedDB databases: none;
- service workers and Cache Storage entries: none.
We do not load Microsoft Clarity, session replay, marketing analytics, or advertising cookies. Our hosting and security provider may use strictly necessary technologies to deliver and secure the website. This inventory does not describe ordinary browser network caching or strictly necessary processing performed within Vercel's infrastructure.
5. Clipboard and Downloads
Copy features use your browser's clipboard interface only after you choose a copy control. We do not read unrelated clipboard content. Chart CSV and PDF downloads contain only public conversion-chart data. The Inch Fraction Calculator's Download CSV control creates a file locally in your browser containing the batch labels, input lines, measurements, and calculated results you choose to export. We do not receive or store that file or its contents.
6. Advertising
No advertising is displayed, and no advertising or targeted-marketing script is loaded. The site's code or layout may reserve locations for possible future advertising. Before activating advertising, we will update this Privacy Policy, identify the relevant providers, and add any consent or privacy controls required for the affected regions.
7. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information, calculator inputs, or fraction results, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Limited technical information may be processed by Vercel, our current hosting, content-delivery, and security provider. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal requests, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or support a business transfer.
8. Data Retention
Because calculator inputs are processed locally and are not stored by us, we do not maintain calculator history. On our current Vercel Hobby plan, runtime logs are available to us for up to one hour. Vercel, Google, and their infrastructure providers may retain separate service-generated, diagnostic, security, or aggregated records for periods determined by their policies or legal obligations.
9. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on the applicable United States jurisdiction, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, and to opt out of certain sales, sharing, profiling, or targeted advertising. We do not currently sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising.
Google Analytics is currently disabled, so there is no analytics consent choice or analytics cookie to manage. If analytics is enabled in the future, this policy will describe the available privacy choices.
We do not use personal information for solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Contact us to exercise an applicable right. Because the service has no accounts and holds limited technical data, we may need enough information to verify and locate a request.
For privacy questions, applicable rights requests, or complaints, contact the Data Protection Officer listed in Section 16. We use that business contact to receive and respond to privacy inquiries and complaints.
If you email us, we and the providers used to route and deliver that message process the sender address, message content, mail headers, and delivery metadata so we can receive, secure, and respond to it. Please do not include information that is not needed for your request. We retain correspondence only as reasonably needed to handle the request, maintain necessary records, resolve disputes, and meet applicable legal obligations; email-routing providers may retain related records under their own service and legal requirements.
10. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We do not use personal information for targeted advertising or track visitors across unrelated third-party sites. Because the Do Not Track specification does not define one uniform response, we do not respond separately to Do Not Track signals.
11. International Processing
The service is operated from Singapore for users in the United States. Limited technical information may be processed in the United States, Singapore, and other countries where our infrastructure providers operate. Privacy protections and legal rights may differ between those locations.
12. Children's Privacy
The website is a general-purpose educational and utility service. It is not directed to children under 13, does not require accounts, and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
13. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect the website and the limited information processed through it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
14. Third-Party Links
The website may link to services or resources operated by others. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
